NOTICE TO PARENTS:

The tutors are all employees of the Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) and members of the Teachers Association of Long Beach (TALB). Tutors may not be contracted for services to any student currently enrolled in that tutor's class. Any services provided by a tutor to a student is independent of both LBUSD and TALB. The list is an open forum and not screened by either LBUSD or TALB in any way except that TALB verifies the tutor is a current member of TALB. You will not hold TALB responsible for the actions or inactions of any tutor. TALB is not involved in the actual contract or providing of services between tutors and students or their guardians or parents. We have no control over and do not guarantee the quality or safety of the tutors advertised, the truth or accuracy of their information, or whether the tutoring will help the student. If you have a dispute with any tutor, you release us (and our officers, representatives, and employees) from claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code §1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor."

NOTICE TO WOULD-BE TUTORS:

You must be a current member of TALB or have retired from LBUSD as a TALB member and now be a current member of CTA-Retired or NEA-Retired to offer tutoring services at lbusd.com. This service is provided free of charge to you and you set your own rates: the agreement is between you and your client only and does not involve TALB. We have no control over and do not guarantee the quality or safety of the contractual relationship or services you provide or that your client will pay for those services in a timely manner. If you have a dispute with any client, you release us (and our officers, representatives, and employees) from claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes.
